This was the first MMORPG I played. When I was taking care of my uncle's shop, I played Ragnarok whenever there was a vacant seat. Even though I was still a noob in online gaming, I easily understood the mechanics, goals (if there were any), and controls of the game.

I didn't find it difficult creating my first character - a girl. Yeah. I have this thing for girl avatars. I like to dress them up nicely so they look classy when they fight. Unfortunately in Ragnarok, players cannot change the appearance of their character's clothes, only its head and face equips.

After reaching level 10 when I have to change jobs, it did not take me too much time deciding which job I will choose. Because I love blasting my enemies from afar I chose to be a magician. (Trivia: In all the games I played, my main characters are all spell-caster classes.) I was very happy when I got my first level of Soul Strike, though it was kinda embarrassing to hit a pupa with just one soul. When I reached level 15+, I immediately grinded my way from the rhoda frogs, rockers, wolfs, hodes, poporings, creamies (before they learned how to teleport), to the monsters inside the dreaded Glass Heim.

As far as I can remember I was too impatient to reach job level 50. Because I was not strong enough, I took and dumped the wizard exam for almost a week. I was so depressed that I even planned on deleting my character. But one day, when I was talking with the annoying job quest NPC for the nth time, he suddenly asked for a worn out scroll. I was intrigued by the sudden change of his mood so I went to Prontera to look for a WOS. Fortunately, it was on sale at 20,000 Zeny. I bought it and gave it to the stup*d NPC, then suddenly he promoted me to a wizard! What a relief! I immediately went to Ant Hell where I can spam my skills at the entrance. Then I realized that my only AOE skill is Thunderstorm which was at level 1.

Back then, I was not aware that my problems and headaches were just about to begin the moment I became a wizard. My online friends say that gearing up my wizard would cost me a lot - and it did. Just the phen clip and immune muffler I bought cost me over 10 million zeny /omg. I have to grind a few more levels before I can buy a quadruple dexterous staff, a +7 Apple 'O Archer, and a pair of elven ears (so cute). At about level 78 I looted a vitata card during a x2 drop rate event. I was so happy because it was my first time to loot a rare and expensive card. However, my happiness didn't last that long because I was hacked by another player who played once in my Uncle's shop. I was just surprised to see my wizard barenaked (well, she was still wearing her generic wizard clothes) in Alberta, standing next to Kafra.

I was so depressed. My friends in the shop tried to search for the criminal, but they did not find him. I deleted my character and stopped playing Ragnarok for a long while, After three years, I heard the news about free Ragnarok servers - Valkyrie and Valhalla. For three straight months, all I did was play, play and play. Finally, I knew it was time to say goodbye. I was getting tired of being killed inside the ice dungeon because of the useless priests and high priests who did not know how to support me. The in-game economy also crashed, with eluniums and equipment sold at incredibly high prices. I did not sell my equips nor deleted my character. I just left her there, in her world. That was the last time I played Ragnarok. I know it sounds too cheesy, but I believe every gamer knows this - the first MMORPG he plays will be the last one he'll forget.
